High Mileage

Driving a VW Caddy Maxi 2.0TDi on long distance and mixed driving for just over 110.000km, replaced them again with the Primacy 4

Transit custom

Primacy 4 fitted to my custom sport. Grip and handling is excellent, very little road noise. 11,000 miles seems to be the most I can get from them but they do give confidence in wet, snow and dry conditions. About to fit another set.

as good or better thaqn the OEM Primacy 3

My Skoda Octavia Scout 135 TDI had Primacy 3 on from new and did 67,000 km. Replaced with Primacy 4 and now have 135,00 km on the clock. Mostly on Gippsland rural arterials and freeways and trips to Myrtleford. They have been rotated every 10,000 km. Nearly to the wear indicators but still going strong. Cannot fault the handling or braking performance. These tyres are quiet and comfortable on this car. Skoda did a great job of matching tyres to this car. I will fit another set opf Primacy 4 in a month or two.

Excellent value for money

I've seen some interesting reviews on this site but I have to comment that I have just replaced my front two tyres on our VW Golf after 70,000 kms and 5% tread left - the rears are still going well. I cannot fault the tyre, excellent adhesion, wet weather performance also excellent and for the money I cannot fault these tyres. German cars typically are sound insulated for smooth bitumen roads so our OEM fitment when new was changed to michelins as soon as we could and we have been very happy with the road noise abatement as well.

Superb Tyres

The Primacy 4 tyres are a revelation - they are so quiet and comfortable and have improved my enjoyment of driving my car. Far superior to the Continentals I used to use.

New tyre tread changed...

I needed 2 new tyres, thought as previously they would be 8mm..was really disappointed to hear during the MOT/service (FORD GARAGE) 10 miles after fitting they were being measured at around 5.6mm??? went back to garage (ATS) who fitted them ..they were measuring around 6.5-6.8mm....my back tyres which have been on for 5 years are 5.2mm??? it would appear ive "lost" a good few years mileage on these new tyres, but what makes it worse was that i contacted Michelin in the hope of getting an explanation and i got a message someone would be in touch...no one did! i've looked around on line and a quite a few other people have seen similar thing regarding the tread decreasing..someone actually managaed to get in touch with Michelin and they reckon the new tread spec is 7mm _ /- 0.4mm but allegedly still lasts better than their competitors?? Really disappointed with Michelin customer service and for someone who seldom uses my car except for shopping every other week or hospital appointments i could of bought cheaper with more tread. People should be aware if Michelin have changed their tread, that's fine but tell people! Although ive put a rating below i dont know how fair this is based on the amount of travel i have done with these new tyres

Very poor grip

This tire has very poor grip on acceleration, even when accelerating on overtaking. Very poor grip on braking (anti-lock system always has to kick in). Very poor grip on cornering.

Michelin Primacy 4 Tyres

Very soft and easily degradable tyre. Barely gave me 30K despite Wheel alignment being perfect. I fitted 2 Primacy 4 on my front wheels of Hyundai Elantra with a belief that these tyres will be better than Primacy 3. The ride conditions and comfort were the same as M. Primacy 3 with less mileage and more cost. I think the upgrades are just meant to rip off people and fill company s coffers.

Very thin tyre tread

Amazed how many punctures from screws of less than 10mm through thickest part of the tread from new. Average Potholes cause walls to crease. Been mitchelin user for decades and these are the least robust I’ve had. Primacy 3 were better.
