Michelin opens first of its kind Automotive Service Centre – ‘TyrePlus’ in Gujarat

Surat, April 12, 2011 – TYREPLUS, a joint initiative by Michelin Tyres, the world leader in tyre technology and Automotive Service Centre opened in the city of Surat today. The opening ceremony was attended by Mr. Thom Clark, Commercial Director, Michelin India, in the presence of other officials & guests.
The TYREPLUS store is located centrally at the premium location of Ghoddod Road, Surat. Spread over a total area of around 7000 sqft, the showroom has a pleasant ambience and an innovative display of Tyres and accessories. It also has a workshop, fully-equipped with latest machinery to handle all tyre and related services, an exercise undertaken by Michelin Tyres for all its TYREPLUS outlets across the world. The store has a strong team trained in all the required technical skills. As part of the TP Programme, Michelin would also provide the team with scheduled trainings encompassing product, soft and management skills etc.
Speaking at the inauguration, Mr. Thom Clark, Commercial Director, Michelin India said, “Since the last decade the industry has witnessed an exceptional rise in customer demand for quality services. The objective for bringing TYREPLUS to India was to make available the choice of brands of tyres and related services to Indian car owners and drivers under one roof at fair and competitive prices.”
“TYREPLUS is an addition to Michelin’s initiative of innovative distribution programs that aim to enhance retail experience for customers. Surat is the commercial capital of Gujarat, it has a large hub of industries and is seeing high growth in population. We are confident that this new distribution programme/ concept will appeal to the consumers in this city”, he further added.
